car damage

May03,2008. The forth time of car spinning in the road. The second time of car spinning due to rain rain(wet road)-->normal speed as usual-->traffic light-->press brake
The first time of car damaged since having the driver license. The driver side door is completely hit into a large pitfall, the glass is broken, the driver side has a long scratch.

Possible reason for deteriorating the spinning is brake tired. The front wheels are stopped and the back wheels are not stopped.

三酸甘油酯Triglyceride

Role in disease

See also the main article hypertriglyceridemia

In the human body, high levels of triglycerides in the bloodstream have been linked to atherosclerosis, and, by extension, the risk of heart disease and stroke. However, the negative impact of raised levels of triglycerides is lower than that of LDL:HDL ratios.[citation needed] The risk can be partly accounted for by a strong inverse relationship between triglyceride level and HDL-cholesterol level.

Another disease caused by high triglycerides is pancreatitis.

[edit] Guidelines

The American Heart Association has set guidelines for triglyceride levels:[2]
Level mg/dL Level mmol/L Interpretation
<150 <1.69 Normal range, low risk
150-199 1.70-2.25 Borderline high
200-499 2.26-5.65 High
>500 >5.65 Very high: high risk

Please note that this information is relevant to triglyceride levels as tested after fasting 8 to 12 hours. Triglyceride levels remain temporarily higher for a period of time after eating.

When some fatty acids are converted to ketone bodies, overproduction can result in ketoacidosis.

[edit] Reducing triglyceride levels

Moderating the consumption of fats, alcohol and carbohydrates and partaking of aerobic exercise are considered essential to reducing triglyceride levels. Omega-3 fatty acids from fish, flax seed oil or other sources, (up to 3g per day in US, but up to 2g in Europe where it should be associated with Omega-6 with a ideal ω_6/ω_3 ratio near 5, unless under physician care)[3], Omega-6 fatty acids, one or more grams of niacin (mega-dose vitamin B-3) per day and some statins reduce triglyceride levels.

Except in Japan, it is generally admitted that most populations in western countries are lacking omega-3 nutritional sources. As a result ingesting of excessively high levels of saturated or monounsaturated fatty acids in order to assimilate enough omega-6 fatty acids is common. The ideal ratio ω_6/ω_3 = 5 is almost never met and is most often too high (about 12 in France, up to 80 in the caucasian population of the US and Canada), and unused high levels of saturated or monounsaturated fatty acids accumulate in the body in the form of triglycerides that do not participate in the needed syntheses in the body.

In some cases Fibrates have been used as they can bring down TGs substantially. However they are not used as a first line measure as they can have unpleasant or dangerous side effects. In one case due to an increase in mortality, clofibrate was withdrawn from the North American market.[citation needed]

Alcohol abuse can cause elevated levels of triglycerides.

It is believed that "high fructose corn syrup" forces tryglycerides into the bloodstream.[citation needed]

Car Skiding Equation

Often, cars, especially the two wheel drive ones, get skided when driving above ice, snow or water. Below are the equations on skiding.

Eq.1 HighSpeed AND SuddenBrake AND SharpTurn = HighPossibilityOfSkidding
Eq.2 LowSpeed AND SlowBrake AND SlowTurn = LowPossilityOfSkidding
Eq.3 {OtherCombinationsExcept1And2} = [HighPossibility, LowPossibility].
Eq.3'. MiddleSpeed OR NormalBrake OR NormalTurn OtherCombinationsExcept1And2

Drivative1:
Eq.1 is the riskest one and Eq. 2 is the safest one. Eq. 3 lies between Eq.1 and Eq.2. If Eq. 2 is not realistic, Eq.3 should be used. Eq.3' can be referred under normal driving.

Have brake and turn may be necessary and beyond the driver's control, so the easiest to control during driving is the speed.
Derivative2:
1. Rain: DriveSpeed=MaxLimitSpeed-10
2. Snow: DriveSpeed=MaxLimitSpeed/2
3. Icy: DriveSpeed=MaxLimitSpeed/3

Since the road may be very slippery under certain conditions (snow, cold temperature freezing water to ice, rain wetting the road), extreme care should be exercised to avoid HighPossibilityOfSkidding in case of that kind of conditions.
Derivative3:
In case the skiding is happenning, try to avoid activating Eq.1, i.e. avoid the three worst cases happenning at the same time.

Car Start in Cold Weather

今天早上起来,汽车发动不了。原因是温度太低了(-5F/-20C). 特将相关解决办法整理如下.
http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/USWI0575?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared

1. Why is it so hard to start a car in the winter? http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question74.htm
The whole "starting your car in cold weather" thing can be a big problem for people who live up north, and especially for people who live in really cold places like Alaska. There are three reasons why cars are hard to start when it is cold.
Reason 1 - Gasoline, like any other liquid, evaporates less when it is cold. You have seen this -- if you pour water onto a hot sidewalk it will evaporate a lot faster than it will from a cooler place like a shady sidewalk. When it gets really cold, gasoline evaporates slowly so it is harder to burn it (the gasoline must be vaporized to burn). Sometimes you will see people spray ether into their engines in cold weather to help them start -- ether evaporates better than gasoline in cold weather.
Reason 2 - Oil gets a lot thicker in cold weather. You probably know that cold pancake syrup or honey from the refrigerator is a lot thicker than hot syrup or honey. Oil does the same thing. So when you try to start a cold engine, the engine has to push around the cold, gooey oil and that makes it harder for the engine to spin. In really cold places people must use synthetic motor oils because these oils stay liquid in cold temperatures.
Reason 3 - Batteries have problems in cold weather, too. A battery is a can full of chemicals that produce electrons (see How Batteries Work for more information). The chemical reactions inside of batteries take place more slowly when the battery is cold, so the battery produces fewer electrons. The starter motor therefore has less energy to work with when it tries to start the engine, and this causes the engine to crank slowly.
All three of these problems can make it impossible to start an engine in really cold weather. People either keep their cars in heated garages or use "block heaters" to get around these problems. A block heater is a little electric heater that you plug into the wall to keep the engine warm.

2.Synthetic engine oil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthetic_oil
Advantages
The technical advantages of synthetic motor oils include:
Measurably better low and high temperature viscosity performance
Better chemical & shear stability
Decreased evaporative loss
Resistance to oxidation, thermal breakdown and oil sludge problems
Extended drain intervals with the environmental benefit of less wastes oil created.

synthetic oil is "worth considering for extreme driving conditions: high ambient temperatures and high engine load, or very cold temperatures"

most engine damage appears to be caused by cold starts

If you've been driving around with mineral oil in your engine for years, don't switch to synthetic oil without preparation. Synthetic oils have been known to dislodge the baked-on deposits from mineral oils and leave them floating around your engine - not good. I learned this lesson the hard way! It's wise to use a flushing oil first. http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html

Fully Synthetic Fuel economy savings

3.Turn the key to 'start', but if it doesn't turn over in about five seconds, turn off and wait a few seconds.

4. Shift Neutral+press the oil pedal+start the car

5. Heet: Gas Line AntiFreeze And Water Remover
Heet aids in quick cold weather starts while preventing frozen fuel lines. Removes water and condensation from fuel system. Safe for fuel injected and carbureted engines with unleaded and leaded fuels. 12 fl. oz.
~$1.5/bottle in Walmart

6. Call AAA, they will help to start the car
